A Windy Start and a Colourful Celebration: Penny & Mike’s Wedding at The Giltar Hotel
While it was blowing an absolute gale outside the Giltar Hotel, inside was a completely different story. The morning was filled with laughter, the clinking of champagne glasses, and that electric buzz that only comes on a wedding day.
Penny and her bridal party were tucked away in one of the hotel’s beautiful rooms overlooking the stormy sea — hair dryers battling the wind outside and the bridesmaids carefully helping with those all-important final touches.
Despite the blustery weather, nothing could dampen the excitement. There’s something so cosy about getting ready indoors while the wind howls outside — it made the whole morning feel even more special, like their own little bubble of happiness.
One of the sweetest moments of the morning was when Penny shared a first look with her son, Spencer, and her dad before walking down the aisle. It was such a touching scene — full of smiles, teary eyes, and that overwhelming mix of pride and love that makes wedding mornings so unforgettable.
When Penny looked incredible — elegant yet effortlessly relaxed, ready to marry the love of her life. Mike, meanwhile, was just down the road getting suited up with his groomsmen, all smiles and jokes, completely unfazed by the storm brewing outside.
The ceremony was beautiful from start to finish, filled with warmth, joy, and emotion. One of the highlights was a heartfelt reading by their daughter, Rosie, who spoke so confidently and beautifully in front of everyone — a moment that had the whole room smiling (and a few quietly reaching for tissues).
After the “I do’s,” the celebration truly came alive. Hot pink and orange tones lit up the day, filling the venue with the most vibrant, joyful energy. Disco balls hung from above, catching every bit of light and scattering it around like confetti. Every detail reflected Penny and Mike perfectly — fun, full of personality, and completely unforgettable.
As the evening rolled in, the speeches brought every emotion imaginable. Penny’s dad gave the most heartfelt and emotional speech, filled with pride, love, and just the right amount of nostalgia to have everyone tearing up. Then came the groom and best man, who had the room in stitches — full of laughter, cheeky stories, and those perfectly timed punchlines that made everyone double over with laughter. It was the perfect balance of heartfelt and hilarious, just like the rest of the day.
When it was finally time to dance, the energy was electric. The disco balls sparkled, the music was loud, and the dance floor never emptied. Laughter, music, and some incredible dance moves made sure the night ended just as joyfully as it began.
Wind or no wind, this wedding was pure magic from start to finish. 🌈🪩✨
