First of all I wanted to thank all our amazing suppliers who made our day perfect and helped it all run so smoothly even when the weather (and horse) tested us!

I would recommend all of these lovely people and would happily work with and use them again in a heart beat.

The Decor


I didn't want to follow trends, I wanted it to feel true to me.

Dark green is my favourite colour and I thought the pink flowers complimented it.

I decorated it all myself with the help of my bridesmaids and mother-in-law.


I bulk bought fake flowers and cut them into individuals to put into small vases. I then used the rest on a flower arch- I ordered the stand off amazon and covered with pipe insulators to poke them into.

Almost everything had our pets included- to the table names, welcome signs to our cake topper!

I designed all the signs, cards and wedding newspaper on Canva.


Our savours were Welsh cakes from Swansea Market! Which I then stamped our name into them from a stamp made from Etsy.

Wedding Morning


Myself, my bridesmaids and Cleo got ready in Guinevere's Cottage ( The dog friendly accommodation) I loved the character in this cottage and having an upstairs meant we could have room to place everything out the way for photos.


I spent the morning chatting away with Jody, Stacey and Lucy all who kept me at ease and were happy to help with anything that needed doing (even if it wasn't their job!).


Having a team like this is so important as wedding nerves defiantly do start to creep in no matter how chilled of a person you are!

Details


With the help of my mother-in-law, we got mine and bridesmaids flowers from this gorgeous store in Narbeth called The Golden Sheaf. They sell stunning fake dried flowers which were perfect for my rustic cowboys vibe I was going for.


I picked up the worlds most comfiest cowboy boots from Dia Studios, I have never lasted so long dancing all night in shoes before!


Myself and Tom did do the tradition of wedding gifts to each other, I got him a nice watch to wear for the day with an inscription on it. Tom got me a note pad with all the things he loves about me and he is not a lovey dovey type so I was very blown away!

Soli's time to shine!


When I got my first dress from Sally in Narberth, it wasn't the type of dress I thought I would go for but I instantly fell in love with it. I was then gutted I wouldn't of been able to sit on Soli in it because of the fitting, so someone suggested why don't I get a second hand dress to wear so I could have pictures with Soli!

And so I did! about 2 hours before the ceremony, my livery yard owner (and life saver) brought Soli over for me so I could have some pictures with him before the carnage.


He was so well behaved and loved the camera!

Ceremony

As an outdoorsy person, I wanted the ceremony to be outside where Soli & Cleo could be a part of it.

Unfortunately the weather had other plans and wasn't sticking to the forecast!


Last minutely we changed to inside with the lovely beams- which photographed lovely.

To my surprise Jo (Wedding Coordinator) had sorted a way for Soli to be snuck past me so I had no idea that Soli was still going to be a part of it and made the ceremony so special to me, so much so that I was crying down the aisle as I spotted Soli outside (and Tom inside) waiting for me.

Cocktail Hour

It turned out to be quite a chaotic reception because of the rain and Soli not wanting to go home!

My brother saved the day and drove to my yard to get Soli's own trailer to encourage him to go home and have a snooze, which luckily worked.


We did some family photos inside and then when the rain past we were able to do the confetti and couple portraits outside -which Cleo obviously had to be a part of.

Reception

One of the many reasons we picked The King Arthur was for their lovely food! We love going there for date night as they always do such yummy steaks. So we were not disappointed with our wedding food. We had our speeches after the food which were full of funny and embarrassing stories!


Our cake was a gift from Toms nan and our first dance was to Chris Stapleton "Joy Of My Life"



We then started the reception with singer Joe Collins, who we found singing in our local pub in Killay singing Mcfly (Which sold me)

My Tips

From planning my own wedding, my advice to anyone going through the same would be:

  1. Have a rainy day plan (talk to your photographer & venue about this)
  2. Use a monthly checklist to spread things out and delicate jobs to people you trust.
  3. Don't feel like you have to follow trends or look like someone else's wedding, It's should look like your wedding!
  4. Get to know your suppliers- Feel at ease that they will bring the good vibes and be happy to help you. (It really does make a difference!)
