Am I a documentary wedding photographer? Yes, but with a twist.

The candid truth

Let’s be honest for a second. We’ve all seen those "pure" documentary photographers who claim they won’t say a single word to you all day. While that’s great for the ceremony, it can feel a bit daunting when it’s just the two of you and a camera.


I’m all about those raw, unscripted moments, but the truth is they don't always happen naturally. Sometimes, they just need a bit of room to breathe. And occasionally, they need a little guidance.

Direction, not posing


My style is documentary, but I bring a twist. I don't believe in stiff, 1990s-style prom poses that make you look like mannequins. Instead, I use what I call "Guidance."

During your couple's session, I’m not going to leave you hanging. I’ll give you a prompt or a bit of direction to get the energy moving. I might tell you to walk towards me while sharing a secret, or ask you to whisper what you’re actually looking forward to at the buffet.


I’m essentially setting the stage so the real you can show up. It’s about guiding the energy so that the spontaneous laughter and the quiet exhales happen naturally.
