A Woodland Maternity Photoshoot at Penllergare Woods

With Husband, Bump & Their Beloved Dog- Dobby

There’s something incredibly special about maternity photoshoots that include the whole family — and yes, that absolutely includes the dog. 🐾

This Penllergare Woods maternity session was the perfect example of how relaxed, meaningful and joy-filled these shoots can be.

Dobby Stealing the Show

We started the photoshoot at the waterfall- because you can’t visit Penllergaer Woods and not get a waterfall photo. It’s such a beautiful, peaceful spot and the perfect place to begin the session.


From there, we made our way through the woods, stopping along the way at a charming cobblestone bridge and a fallen log that was ideal for relaxed, seated photos. Each little stop offered a completely different feel, which helped keep the shoot varied and natural.


I always love making the most of a location, using all the different backdrops, so your photos feel full, diverse, and truly tell the story of your time together.

Golden Hour

We then made our way to the field to make the most of the sun setting between the trees, creating that beautiful golden-hour glow that adds so much warmth to the images.

We captured a lovely variety of shots, from Dobby proudly posing with the bump, to quiet moments of the soon-to-be parents together, while Dobby kept herself busy hunting for squirrels in the background. Those little, unscripted moments are often what make a gallery feel so personal and full of life.

Photos to Cherish

I will always cherish family photos that include pets as part of the family. They’re such an important part of your story, and capturing those connections feels incredibly special.
